TOURIST FARM ¨OB IZVIRU KRUPE¨

Bela Krajina, the southernmost part of the Republic of Slovenia behind the Gorjanci, is a charming land famous for its ancient history, rich cultural heritage, enchanting nature and mild climate. The area is known for its birch trees and some say that the country was named either after them. Others think that white national costumes which are today worn only by folklore dancers caused is the reason that the region is named Bela Krajina, which means white county.

In the typical village of Krupa in Bela Krajina there is the source of the river Krupa, which is one of the most beautiful and important of the Slovenian carst springs. (Weddings can be performed there as well.) The charming river canyon offers many possibilities for pleasant and relaxing walks.

The tourist farm “ OB IZVIRU REKE KRUPE” is located just above the mighty source of the river. It is an ideal place for those who like the traditional cuisine of Bela Krajina.

As the farm is located in the centre of the region, other interesting sights of Bela krajina and Dolenjska are quite easy to reach. Amongst these are the rivers Kolpa and Lahinja, the mountain cottage at Smuk and Mirna gora where there is a forest nature trial. In Metlika and Semič you should visit the museum of Bela Krajina and in Vinica there is a native house of one of the leading modern Slovene poets Oton Župančič. The charming countryside offers numerous possibilities for those who like sports, leisure activities and recreation in an unspoiled environment.
